My the last project was Advertisement  Project for helping Japan. It was quite interesting and difficult because I didn't know Windows Movie Maker Program before, and also its version has very different kind versions of window environment in computer. Nevertheless, I thought this project was helped me and valuable to do, so I liked doing this the last project with my team, Park, Kaori, Obah, Jinsook, James. Especially, When Kaori, Obah and I took the video of the last part of Ad in computer room, we had enjoyable time together and It left me with unforgettable memories even though this part made very unnatural and awkward performance. Pray to End of Abortion(40daysforlife.com)

I am Roman Catholic and support the Pro-life movement, so I am demonstrating against abortion in front of some medical center every Tuesday during the 40 days, from the Ash Wednesday to Easter.

In fact, when I was in Korea, I didn't know about the Pro-life. Additionally, I wasn't Roman Catholic before six months the day came to the U.S. But I didn't do abortion, on the other hand, I had a miscarriage two times.therefore, I always thank God to give my children.

In case of my country, Many women had abortion many times because the baby inside them was daughter or didn't want to delivery. Furthermore, some woman who I know was forced to be abortion two times from her mother-in-law. As a result, her body became weak and she had a hard time with her husband.

Similarly, My sister-in-law came close to get divorced with husband by her mother-in-law. Indeed, It was a quite sad story. Nevertheless, she fortunately lives very well with her family and her daughter got well.

Some people don't like me about supporting ban abortion. For example, if a woman who was sexually assaulted has a baby, what can she do? It is difficult to decide to not being abortion. I don't know exactly what to do. Nevertheless, I am willing to continuously demonstrate ban abortion. Why? I think that a baby inside mother is beloved human and living baby.

What's your favorite's word in your life?

On 9th March 2011, I learned about religion in American life and talked about diversity of religions. There are many religions in the world. I am Roman Catholic. Among them, I have never known some new words: atheism, reincarnation.

Ms. Towhidi asked us " What's your favorite's word in your life? " Each classmate said one word. There are many diversity words in each life. Only my brain don't move to think about that. When I go to church and have Mass, I always feel God's mercy, love, peace and I have profound gratitude for God. So I try to live with these words, especially with appreciate everything every day. But I forgot all of them.

We wrote these words inside "life" letter and put it on the wall. It is interesting experience for me.

About St. Patrick's Day

Last year, I read St. Patrick's Day in Easy English News, but I forgot all. On 1st March, 2011, I also read St. Patrick's Day in Easy English News, but I forgot too except one. Irish immigrants brought it and America people enjoy that day by wearing green. The day before that day, my daughter said that if you don't wear one small green item at least, you might get pinched from someone. So, today, St. Patrick's Day, I brought the green bag and I learned about  St. Patrick's Day in more detail. But I couldn't describe  St. Patrick's Day to my classmate. And for don't forget  St. Patrick's Day, I want to try to write everything about it.

 1. When was Saint Patrick born? He was born in 385.
 2. When did Saint Patrick die? He died on 17 March, 461.
 3. What was he known for?
St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, used shamrock to teach the Irish people about the three parts of God in one: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He taught Irish people about Jesus Christ. and took care of Irish. Today many people wear a shamrock design on  St. Patrick's Day because it is supposed to bring good luck.
 4. What is a patron saint? He was a Patron Saint and Apostle of Ireland.
 5. Why do people wear green on Saint Patrick's Day?
Green symbol is Irish color, green shamrock, green emerald, bring good luck, burning green leaves make a good soil.

Leprechauns are tiny people, very smart, full of tricks and live in the woods where gather gold and bury it.

Leadership - Hero's journey by John Lbrown and cerylle

A person on a heroic journey must have the ability and willingness to function as a member of a team.
Fullan states it the way “There is a ceiling effect on how much we can learn if we keep to ourselves. The ability to collaborate-on both a small and large scale- is becoming one of the core requisites of post-modern society. People need one another to learn and to accomplish things.”
In my opinion, it is true and significant in my life. When I worked in Korea, the follower didn’t collaborate with the others and interrupted some tasks, so the other workers had a hard time doing their tasks. Furthermore, the lack of the ability to collaborate can separate teamwork. People have diversity, different of abilities and then when they work, they can get the great results as doing cooperatively than individually. The things that collabolate together can make impossible things possible.

News

Hanamama and I read a article about helping for health from News, so interviewed each other while becoming reporter and instructor. At the first, we wrote our news as the following directions " who, how, where, when, what, why". And then we recorded the news for less three minutes. While Hanamama and I read the article, when we didn't know some words, we helped each other find out the meaning, so It was good experience to me and I felt relations with her was much closer. Our news is the below.

Good morning everybody! I'm Hanamama from Health & Life Channel.
I'm in a laughter-yoga class. There are many people who are laughing and giggling for no reason. What's so funny? Let's talk with the instructor named Yun to get information!

1. Could you tell me who are joining your class?
They are students from ages 20 to 90, some students who gave up medications for depression, asthma, ADHD and cancer. Some students are enthusiasts, including senior citizens, corporate managers and even prisoners.

2. Why do they participate in this class?

The main reason is that it improves blood flow, lowering levels of the stress hormones and increasing the immune system.

3. Could you tell me how to improve?

You just burst out laughing for no reason.

4. Do I need something to prepare before joining?

No, you don't need yoga mats and any facilities.

5. Could you explain more detail about the way?

You can exercise anytime and anywhere. But, at first, It's better to join our class, so you can learn how to laugh. Let me introduce a simply way, clapping while uttering loud, rhythmic reps of "Ha ha ha! Ho ho ho!"
Let's try it.  "Ha ha ha! Ho ho ho!"  "Ha ha ha! Ho ho ho!" It's so funny and interesting!
The first time, your feeling is awkward, but you repeat more and more, you feel more comportable. You might be less stressed as use fake laughter.

Thank you for your time. Did you see how to laugh?
The instructor Yun said you can try anytime and anywhere. But this is still unclear. However, if you try laughing for a few weeks, you could feel the difference.
It's real stress buster and proof or no proof that's nothing to laugh at.
This is Hanamama from Health & Life Channel.

My hometime(writing homework)

Gwanak mountain

Chunggye mountain
My hometown is one of the best cities with many advantages which like people to live in suburban. First, it is located by two big mountains, which are famous for beautiful rocks, natural forest and autumn maple foliage.  Also, it is convenient for residents to go to work their urban office. It takes about for 10 minutes by car or bus or metro. Furthermore, on the other side of the city are many amusement parks and the National Science Museum, where people can enjoy playing with family and learning academic education at the same time. These three advantages are truly important and make my hometown a favorite city to live.

Russian Dancer, Samovar and Maslenitsa celebrate

All of our classmates look forward to eating a special international food on every Wednesday. Especially, I awfully eagerly wait for seeing Samovar and Russian traditional food. Are you curious about why I so anticipate it? When I was in university, I enjoyed reading the Russian classic books which were the world  famous at that time, such as The death soul by Nikolai Vasilievich Gogol, The Brothers Karamazov by Dostoevsky, Tolstoy'books .....

There were some expressions of the books " The protagonist pour a hot tea into the cup ...and ordering the Samovar to be heated..." At that time, I wanted to know everything about other countries that I didn't learn when I was in high school through books. During in the 18th and 19th centuries, Social change has been tremendous. Most of peasants rose up against their master because of famine.
Anyway, Larisa brought Russian cookie, Samovar and traditional cloth, and then fantastic excellent awesome dance!!!!  Wow!  Eventually I saw everything about Russian's which I eagerly looked forward to.
Thank you so much Larisa. You made our class happy smile and gave spendid gorgeous experience.

News Scavenger Hunt

Scavenger Hunt means that a game in which the organizers prepare a list defining specific items and seek to gather all items on the list, usually without purchasing them. It is very funny game. I participated in it by a team and individual.

Yesterday, I skimmed the Easy English News while dozing off in the evening. I didn't know some new words. After scavenger hunt, I might have never forgotten the "Scam meaning", a set of lies or stories to trick people. As a member of my team, I found out the answers about 6 to 9 questions.
I would like to choose the 6 question, "What are some differences between civil law and criminal law?"

[ Civil law ]
It deals with disputes between people or between people and organizations, such as immigration, citizenship, marriage, adoption, divorce, property, wills.
It takes many years to settle
It needs lawyers but small cases(under $3,000) don't need a lawyer.
[ Criminal law ]
It deals with crimes criminals between prosecutions such as robbery, murder.
It may be taken short time to trial.
It needs lawyers but the government provides an attorney for poor people without money.

Maslow's hierarchy of needs

Abraham Maslow was born in New York in 1908 and died in 1970.  He, was a professor of psychology at Brandeis University, founded humanistic psychology and created Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs theory which remains today for understanding human motivation, management training, and personal development.
According to his theory, Hierarchy of needs have five-stage levels pyramid diagrams and models, needs must be satisfied in the given order. Each of us is motivated by needs. Once a need is satisfied, the person moves up to the next. When the lower order needs of physical and emotional well-being are satisfied, we concerned with the higher order needs of influence and personal development.
Conversely, if the things that satisfy our lower order needs are swept away, we are no longer concerned about the maintenance of our higher order needs.
Levels 1 to 4 are deficiency motivators; level 5 is growth motivators and relatively rarely found. The preventing of needs is usually a cause of stress, and is particularly so at level 4.
However people and motivation are more complex. So it is broadly true that people move up (or down) the hierarchy, depending what is happening to them in their lives.
For example, a rich man who  grown up very poor can still be concerned about feeding(level 1), shelter(level 2)  and even the meaning of life(level 5), even if he is living abundantly.
On the other hand, under certain circumstances, a person who trying to satisfy their needs at  belongingness(level 3) seems able to self-actualise(level 5) by selflessly helping others, and at the same time begins to satisfy their own needs about belongingness and self-esteem.
Maslow’s theory is not a catch-all, but it does remain useful framework for analyzing and trying to understand the complications of human behavior and growth.
Especially in the workplace, it is a wonderfully simple and elegant model for understanding many aspects of human motivation.

maslow's hierarchy of needs diagram
1970s adapted Cognitive needs( knowledge, meaning, etc.), Aesthetic needs(appreciation and search for beauty, balance, form, etc.) between 4 and 5.(after Maslow's death)
1990s adapted Transcendence needs(helping others to achieve self actualization.) behind 5
* Although Maslow referred to the 'Cognitive', 'Aesthetic', and 'Transcendence', he didn’t include any of these as additional stages in the Hierarchy of Needs.
