Donner party

How do people survive under the circumstance which was no food and very cold weather almost for 3 months? It must have been very serious and horrible experience they had to eat the human body even dead body.

It happened in 1846-1847. Donner party was a group of American pioneers who set out for California in a wagon. They had to spend winter in Nevada.

They didn’t have enough food, and then they ate human body. At first, there were 87 people in that party. Out of 87, only 47 people were survived. We would like to figure out that what factors affected to this cannibalism. There should have been several factors for survival.
 Who were the survivors?    How could they survive?
 What  was the difference between the lived and the died?
 Why did the young bachelors all die?   Did the dead men really die naturally? 

     < Hypothesis >

       In the extreme situation, who was the most likely to die? Who could have survived? Did you know how could they survive? 

      Most of people who have own family in bound could have survived more than some singles, especially bachelors.

      The reason is they could try to protect their family against the others. They could have been more mutual protection and helped their family and might have killed other people to eat by collusion.

      Bachelors might be killed or abandoned their instinct of self-preservation because they might not have hope for one’s survival.

      Children who were younger might not be survived.

      Some of boys might have been killed as food.

      Women with their family could avoid being killed, because they had an ability which can support their family and they were protected by their husband. In result, Men could have died than women. But fathers of families could have survived for protecting their family.

    ▶ They ate the only dead bodies at the first time

    ▶ They might have colluded to kill

    ▶ Young bachelors might have participated the collusion at the first time.

    ▶ But, most of them might have become victims later  

    ▶ Some of them were dead naturally.  (exception)

Hello! I'm Yun in high advanced class.                                                             

I don't like telling a lie to a person and I always tell my children  " Please, Be honest!!"
I'm open-minded and try to understand ideas and feelings of others.


Whenever I get stressed out, I watch a movie until I don't remember my problems and That's my bad habit. I'm a little lazy for studying in English and I'm always trying to postpone doing something I dislike.  Those are my bad habits too.


I'd like to organize everything in my house. I enjoy cooking a new recipe and I don't use artificial ingredients during cooking for my family's health. I love traveling very much, especially National Parks to see the wild animals or nature. Last summer, I went to the sixteen National Parks of western area of the U.S.A for five weeks with my family.

When I was in Korea, I learned about playing "Danso" which made of bamboo for six months. It is difficult to play because the hole that I blow through is small, So  I'm poor Danso player.
I love listen to the music instead of playing.
My favorite music is Canon by Pachelbel, Imagine by John Lennon.
Whenever my son plays Canon with Clarinet, I'm always happy.

A Crime at Pimmit Center

At 8:30am, This morning, The student named Janny went into the classroom 154 and she discoverd that five computers were gone. She immediately announced to Janiffer.
Investigators found out a purple bag with some small patterns on the desk. The bag looks like more pink.
Inside bag were only a purple lipstick, Asian grocery coupons and a ticket number read 5. And the ticket came from a gym for cycling. Since the classroom had been thoroughly cleaned the night before and all lost items placed in cabinet. On the desk next to the bag, officers located a cycling helmet.

What is your favorite holiday? Why?

My favorite holiday is my parents- in- law's birthday.

This day, all of my husband's siblings meet to celebrate in the house of one of the siblings which duty is for that year.

The year before I got married, all of the siblings made an appointment to get together with some contracting and celebrated. 

My husband has six siblings. Each sibling who is on duty must invite us to his/her house on Sunday between their parent's birthdays, having with a one-week gap. My husband is the first son in his family,
so he has to support his parents. All the time I have to prepare for cooking and cleaning in his parents' house all day without helping from others. I like to meet his siblings to talk about some events that happened after we met. But I had a hard time to prepare everything alone.

When it is my parents- in- law's birthday, I can eat very delicious food and enjoy the time like a guest. I only have to prepare for everything once every six years. I love this way.

Living On a Tight Budget

Living on a tight budget is hard to me, But if I follow some rules, I will feel more comfortable. First of all, I should make a list that I must need to buy before I go shopping, and I have to check what to buy in my coupons.
For example, last month I bought a big pack of dried cranberry in Costco. But before shopping, I didn't check my coupons and also didn't bring them. A few days later, I knew it was on sale. Second, I should always check my closet or refrigerator when I make a shopping list. Unfortunatly, I also bought two 11/2 dozen eggs on Sunday even though I had 11/2dozen eggs. Third, I should always be organized and clean my refrigerator and not fill it up with ingredients. You should never buy too many ingredients all together when you go shopping. You might throw away a lot of ingredients because they are rotten. Finally, If you go shopping after check everything, you might save your money, and also you have never ever make a mistakes anything.

Problems Of World

We discussed the problems of world  in class last week. There are many problems in our world, such as

Violence, Drug, Unemployment, Environment issues, Recession in our economy, Human trafficking, National debt, Poverty and starving, Nuclear threat, Political power abuse, Race discrimination, Loss of moral values, Power trasition, Energy, Health issues, Terrorism.

Our team, Janny, Yuna, Yunju, Nafisa,and me, chose the environment issues and also chose the song "Don't worry, Be happy" . The day before last Friday, Each classmate had to do research a problem we chose.

We created beautiful lyrics of the music.

Our team, included me, Julie, Obah, Kei, James, made the project to present the N-Geners's Norms in front of our classmate. We just had the 30 minutes to discuss and made the presentation that have to involve the N-Geners's Norms. All of team presentation were excellent, especially my team was awesome, and took part in the each own part. I thought that was helped to me improve my english skills. Thank my team members.
